
Chocolate Malt Truffles
Equipment
- Small bowls (2)
- Dry and Wet Measuring Cups
- Measuring Spoons
- Wire cooling rack
- Cake pan
- Parchment paper
Ingredients
Chocolate Malt Truffles
- ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
- ½ cup semi-sweet baking chocolate or wafers
- 1 tbsp salted butter softened
- 4 tbsp malted milk
Chocolate Malt Topping
- ½ cup dark chocolate chips or wafers
- 6-8 Whoppers crushed
Instructions
Chocolate Malt Truffles
- In a small, microwave safe bowl, heat the cream for 45 seconds or until warm
- Finely chop your chocolate if using a bar
- Add butter and chocolate to bowl and let sit for a minute or two
- Stir vigorously until mixture is glossy and smooth
- Add in malted milk, 1 tablespoon at a time. Stir until each tablespoon has been fully incorporated before adding the next
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Use a spoon to scoop out tablespoon-sized balls, roll until smooth
Chocolate and Malt Topping
- Melt chocolate chips or wafers in a microwave safe bowl or over low heat.
- Place Whoppers in a sandwich bag and using a small glass bowl, crush Whoppers in bag, set aside
- Place truffles on a wire cooling rack, positioned over a cake pan lined with parchment paper
- Pour melted chocolate over the top of the truffles
- Sprinkle truffles immediately with crushed Whoppers
- Let solidify for 15 minutes and enjoy or chill in refrigerator until you're ready to serve them
