This is my absolute favorite green smoothie
It’s so sweet and creamy. You’d never guess it has a handful of spinach in it! Don’t get me wrong, I love my veggies. But I’ve found green smoothies to taste a little too healthy, i.e. like grass. No thanks. Salads are delicious but I don’t want my smoothie to taste like salad, ya know?
The key to a creamy smoothie
I think the secret to a tasty green smoothie is having creamy, flavorful ingredients to help balance out the greens. Enter avocado + frozen banana. The combo of these two ingredients are magic, I swear. Plus there’s another sneaky little ingredient that I like to add to make it even tastier!
A Word on Non-Dairy Milk
When I started trying non-dairy milks, I tried almond, then cashew and lastly, soy. None of them really did it for me. They all tasted too thin – I’m a big fan of cow’s milk so that was a hard swap. I definitely could never get to the point to drink them straight. The only way I really didn’t mind them was in smoothies and even then, I wasn’t a huge fan. Enter Oat Milk. If you’ve been following me for any length of time you’d know I’m obsessed. Oatly is incredible and by far the best I’ve found. The only downside is that they don’t carry it at my local grocery store. Planet Oat comes in at a very close second – I get the extra creamy kind and it’s amazingly good. I drink it in my morning latte and my smoothies.
