Hey! As you might have read, I am relatively new-ish to baking seriously and frequently. After many, many months of struggling with various aspects of baking, I’m finally on the other side! I have learned these successful baking tips (and more):
- How to prevent and rescue separated batter
- Quickly fix grainy buttercream
- Take cookies from crispy to chewy
- Fluff up a cake that’s too dense
- and PIE CRUST. How to make a pie crust from scratch and love it.
The list of my baking struggles and now wins, goes on and on and on, which is why I want to share both with you! Successful Baking Tips will unlock the solution to a baking struggle that you’ve experienced. You’ll have a tool bag to use to prevent or fix any baking challenge that arises. As a result, you’ll have the confidence to bake anything and you’ll know that it’ll turn out exactly like you envision.
I also want to share with you how to create a base recipe. Base recipes are ratios of ingredients, for example: the ratio of butter:flour:eggs:sugar in a given cookie recipe. This skill will change. your. baking. If confidence in baking is what you’re after – knowing exactly how to create a base recipe will take you there. And once you have your successful base recipe?! Watch out. You can create anything and scale the recipe to feed yourself or a whole dining hall full of people.
